Shaftesbury School Celebrates Record A Level Results!
‘Hard work, great teaching and learning and an individual approach’ is what Tim Farrer, Headteacher, believes is the key to great results at Shaftesbury School. ‘Although we were faced with a huge array of challenges this year, our students have achieved well and are now able to make their next steps.’
There were huge differences in the way young people were assessed but looking at the overall picture, the staff and students are celebrating an outstanding set of results this year with achievement for A level and BTEC at a record level, a further improvement on last year. Tim Farrer said ‘We are extremely proud of the students and their achievements. Despite the different ways they were awarded, these results are still a testament to the dedication of both the students and the teaching staff and of course the support and care given by their families. Students have done even better than before, particularly in the top grades, and it is great to know their efforts have paid off.’
‘Shaftesbury School is a truly comprehensive school and we value the achievements of all students across A levels, BTECs, Level 2 qualifications and enrichment programmes such as the Arts Award and Duke of Edinburgh and the National Citizenship Scheme; all should be celebrated. We do also want to congratulate those who are worth mentioning based on their outstanding results’.

The school is proud to report that it again has students accepting offers from Oxford and Cambridge as well as a broad range of Russell Group universities, however Shaftesbury students also saw success with progression into employment and apprenticeships and the school wishes all its students the very best of luck with their futures.
