Our schools had a fantastic time celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee!
Sherborne Primary celebrated by having a street party lunch on the playground, and forming this fantastic image on their school field which was captured by drone photography!
Shaftesbury Primary School held a ‘Make a Crown’ competition which was judged by Shaftesbury Council’s town clerk. The children all sang the national anthem, and then children from EYFS showcased their portraits of the Queen whilst unveiling a plaque at a tree planted to celebrate the occasion.
Pupils and staff at St Mary’s Primary (Bradford Abbas) celebrated the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in style with a celebration assembly was followed by a crown parade and a traditional street party. The children made flags, cakes and biscuits, Buckingham Palace out of boxes and enjoyed many other Jubilee related activities.
Thornford Primary children also enjoyed lots of celebrations, and were delighted that one pupil – Lucia – won a local competition run by Mogers Drewett to design Jubilee bunting! Lucia won a £50 voucher, £500 for her school and her bunting was printed!
St Andrew’s Primary School in Yetminster held a Jubilee bake off, with some amazing cakes made for the event! Pupils have also been busy over the last few weeks creating fantastic pieces of art to celebrate the Jubilee!
Pupils at Buckland Newton Primary had lots of fun creating Jubilee crowns, artwork fit for a Queen, and enjoying a street party in their playground.
The Gryphon School’s Textiles Department created this beautiful display for students to enjoy!
