Well done to Year 11 students at Shaftesbury School

Congratulations to all our Year 11 students in what has been a challenging and unexpected year. We are delighted with the resilience, fortitude and perseverance that they have displayed during what have been the most challenging few months.

Although our students did not sit formal public examinations this summer, they did sit a number of internally set and moderated examinations. The results that they have received are, we believe, an accurate reflection of what they deserved. These results are the outcome of a detailed and rigorous process which also has taken into account any mock examinations as well as their work in school since the start of their GCSE courses.

We are extremely proud of all of our Year 11 students. It has been a pleasure to watch them grow throughout their school career and, although this was not the way we expected Year 11 to end, we are delighted that we are able to share such an excellent set of results with them today. We would also like to thank all our staff for their diligence in ensuring that students were awarded grades that truly reflected their abilities and potential, and the support that they continued to provide throughout the two lockdown periods.

Finally, we would like to share this message with all our Year 11s. We are looking forward to seeing many of you as you start your 6th form courses in September, for these students and equally those of you who are off to pastures new, we wish every success in the future.
