World Book Day
Our schools showed their creativity when it came to World Book Day this year, as it occurred during lockdown and before most students returned to school.
At Buckland Newton CE Primary School pupils had lots of reading activities for the day itself, and while in lockdown they were challenged to decorate wooden spoons as characters from their favourite books!

When they returned to school the following week, pupils had the change to dress us, with the pre-school all wearing bright colours so together they could create the ‘Beautiful Butterfly’ from ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’.

A Beautiful Butterfly!
At St Andrew’s Primary School in Fontmell Magna, key worker children who were in school enjoyed dressing up for the day in a range of fantastic costumes!

Children at Shillingstone CE Primary School also dressed up in some brilliant costumes for the day – including a brilliant Rafiki from The Lion King!

Year 7 and 8 students at The Gryphon School were invited to join a live webinar with teen author Robert Muchamore as part of their World Book Day activities.
